Preparing Your Pet for Their First Grooming

The first grooming session is a discovery: noises, smells, unfamiliar hands. With a bit of preparation at home, your companion will approach the experience with more confidence.

Getting used to it gently

The earlier an animal gets used to being touched, the more easily it accepts care. No step is too small, and every little success counts.

  • Handle paws, ears, tail and muzzle, a few seconds at a time.
  • Brush regularly, with patience, rewarding calm behavior.
  • Get acquainted with the salon: a short visit without any care helps take away the drama.
  • Go for a walk before the appointment to burn off energy.

On the day, stay relaxed: animals sense our nervousness. Tell us about their fears, age, health and past experiences. These details let us adapt our approach and take breaks when needed.

We always proceed at your pace and the animal's. A successful first visit is sometimes shorter than planned, and that is fine: what matters is that your companion keeps a good memory of the day.
