How to Prepare for a Photo Session
Many people tell us they do not like being photographed. Good news: most change their mind during the session. Good preparation helps a lot, and it comes down to a few simple steps.
Before the big day
Tell us what the images are for: a professional portrait, a greeting card and a family keepsake are not photographed the same way. The better we understand your goal, the better we can choose the place and the mood.
- Clothing: choose outfits you feel good in, and avoid busy patterns and visible logos.
- Colors: solid tones that suit your complexion and your other outfits are more timeless.
- Comfort: bring a second outfit, you will have more choice.
- Rest: a good night's sleep and a glass of water beat any product.
On the day, do not try to pose. Breathe, move, laugh if you feel like it. The best photos often happen between instructions, when you forget about the camera.
If children are joining, plan a snack and time for breaks. We follow their rhythm, never the other way around.
