Taking Good Care of Your Eyes in Front of Screens

A computer screen at work, a phone on the train, television in the evening: our eyes work hard. It is common to feel some tiredness after long hours staring at a bright surface. A few habits can make daily life more comfortable.

When we stare at a screen, we blink less often. As a result, our eyes can become dry and uncomfortable. Remembering to blink on purpose and to take regular breaks helps a great deal.

Habits to try

  • Look into the distance for a few seconds at regular intervals
  • Place the screen at a comfortable distance, slightly below eye level
  • Avoid glare by adjusting the lighting in the room
  • Match the screen brightness to the surroundings

Posture matters too: a good back and relaxed shoulders ease the whole upper body. And don't forget to drink enough water.

If you still feel frequent headaches, blurry vision or lasting discomfort, don't always blame screens. The best thing is to have your eyesight checked. A regular exam tells you where you stand and gives you a professional's advice suited to your situation. Book an appointment whenever you like, we will be happy to see you.
