Getting Your Car Ready for the Cold Season

When temperatures drop, a car's small problems often show up all at once. A check-up before the first frost keeps you from being stranded on a rushed morning.

Let's begin with the tires: they are your only contact with the road. Check their wear and pressure, and consider tires suited to winter conditions if your region calls for it. Cold lowers pressure, so look at it regularly.

Our checklist

  • The battery, which suffers a lot once the cold sets in
  • The brakes, to make sure of a firm and safe stop
  • The coolant and a washer fluid made for cold weather
  • The wiper blades, headlights and tail lights

Don't forget to prepare the inside too: an emergency kit with a blanket, a flashlight, jumper cables and a scraper can make a bad moment much easier to bear.

Drop by before the season really sets in. We will inspect everything with you, explain what we see, and you can then decide what is urgent and what can wait.
