Marguerite Léveillé
Marguerite grew up in her grandmother's garden in Neuville, then spent ten years in horticulture before opening her shop in 2020, in a former cobbler's on Saint-Jean Street.
She composes by instinct, one flower at a time, no plan or pattern. Her bouquets are asymmetrical, a little tousled — like an armful gathered while walking.
«I never make the same bouquet twice. That would be boring for everyone.»
Four habits
we never lose.
-
01
One flower at a time
No patterns, no catalogue bouquets: every arrangement is built by hand with the day's stems.
-
02
Growers first
From April to October, our flowers come from the fields of Île d'Orléans and Portneuf, never off a plane.
-
03
Kraft paper and twine
Bouquets go out wrapped in kraft paper and tied with twine, just like at the market.
-
04
The handwritten note
Every order leaves with a studio card, handwritten, never printed.
What's growing,
season after season.
Our bouquets follow the fields. What comes into the studio changes almost every week.
Spring
Tulips, ranunculus and the first lilacs, as soon as the fields of Île d'Orléans wake up.
Summer
Peonies, cosmos, zinnias and sweet peas: the buckets spill out onto the sidewalk.
Fall
Dahlias, rudbeckias, grasses and branches turning colour.
Winter
Dried flowers, eucalyptus and evergreen branches, until April comes back.
