Helping a Child Not Fear the Dentist
Many children dread their first visit, often because they sense the worry of the adults around them. With a little preparation and the right words, the visit can become a curious and even pleasant experience.
How to prepare them
- Talk about the visit in simple, positive words, without worrying details.
- Read a book or play dentist at home with a stuffed toy.
- Pick a time of day when the child is rested and in a good mood.
- Stay calm: your attitude is contagious.
Avoid phrases like “it won’t hurt”: they plant the very idea of pain. Instead, talk about discovering, counting teeth and meeting the team.
At our clinic, we take the time to introduce each instrument and explain each step before we begin. For any specific question about your child, please don’t hesitate to contact us.
