Preparing for Your First Consultation

Meeting a lawyer can feel intimidating, especially the first time. You may not know what to bring, what to say or where to start. A little preparation makes the meeting clearer and more useful for both of us.

What is useful to prepare

  • A summary of the facts in a few lines, with key dates in order.
  • Relevant documents: contracts, letters, emails, invoices or notices received.
  • Your questions, written down beforehand so nothing is forgotten once you arrive.
  • Your goals: what you hope to achieve or avoid.

Be complete and honest, even about details that feel embarrassing. What you share with us is protected by confidentiality, and we can only advise you well if we know the whole situation.

This article is general information and does not replace advice tailored to your case. Every situation is different, which is exactly why a consultation is worthwhile.
