One truck, one trailer, and a first paver driveway.
Sylvain Rivest founded the company in 1996 in Repentigny, with one truck, one trailer and a second-hand plate compactor. That first season he laid about a dozen driveways, almost all on the same street.
Thirty seasons later, Sylvain runs Paysages Rivest with his daughter Josée. The crews work all year: landscaping from the thaw to the first snow, snow removal in winter. Paving and masonry are never subcontracted.

Maintenance and snow removal
The company adds seasonal maintenance contracts and residential snow removal, to keep its employees working all year.
The yard on chemin des Pépinières
Pavers, stone and bulk mulch, on display for clients who want to see the materials before choosing.
Josée joins the management
She takes over plan design and quotes; Sylvain keeps running the job sites.
The thirtieth season
The same rules as day one: a firm price, a written schedule, and the property swept every evening.
