Why You Should Wash Your Car Even in Winter
Many people tell themselves it is pointless to wash a car in winter, since it will be dirty again the next day. Yet this is the period when a wash does your vehicle the most good.
Where salt or abrasives are spread on the roads, these products stick underneath the car, in the wheel wells and along the lower body. Combined with moisture, they encourage rust. Removing them regularly is one of the best protective steps.
What a good winter wash does
- Removes accumulated salt and mud from underneath the vehicle
- Protects the paint and metal parts
- Clears headlights, plates and sensors so you can see and be seen
- Keeps your car more pleasant day to day
If possible, choose a day when the temperature is a bit milder so water does not freeze in locks and door seals. After washing, wipe the seals and drive a few minutes to push water out of the brakes.
A simple tip: get into the habit of a visit every two or three weeks during the cold season. Your car will thank you. Don't hesitate to ask which option suits you best.
