Alexandra Gauthier, PT, M.Sc.
Bachelor's and professional master's in physiotherapy from Université Laval, member of the Quebec physiotherapy professional order since 2009. Six years at a rehabilitation center, three of them in post-surgical follow-up, before opening Élan in 2015. Advanced training in orthopedic manual therapy and vestibular rehabilitation.
The team has five people: three physiotherapists (including Sarah, trained in pelvic health), Vincent, a physical rehabilitation therapist, and Marc-Antoine, a kinesiologist in charge of return-to-sport and training programs.
Four rules, since day one
The way Élan works comes down to four principles. They apply to every patient, from assessment to discharge.
A written goal
From the assessment on, we write down what you want to be able to do again, and by when. The whole plan is built from there.
Numbers, not impressions
Range of motion with a goniometer, strength with a dynamometer, timed tests: the same measurements repeated at every reassessment.
The work between sessions
A filmed exercise program, short and precise. Two or three exercises a day, five minutes, at home or at the office.
Changing approach when needed
If you are not progressing after four sessions, we revise the plan or refer you to the right professional.
